Stitches & Laundry

The Little Launderette in Nailsworth comes to the rescue… and Rach is very brave (OK ‘fairly’ brave)
We’d already decided that over the weekend we were going to find a place with a launderette and a leisure centre so we could have a shower, do some washing and still be close enough to home to be able to pop to the office for a few hours, as we have two sites going live this coming week. Unfortunately after phoning around a few, we realised we weren’t the only people to have that idea – one place in Cirencester had a 4 hour wait. We came to work instead.
So, later I took Skateboard up to the field to play frizbee for a bit. She can get a bit stressed when she is on the lead near dogs she doesn’t know, so we often walk away from other people until she’s free to run. Before I’d even got her off the lead, another owner sent her dog over to ‘play’, clearly misintepreting me walking away from them as an invitation to send their dog chasing after us. An easy mistake to make if I’d been wearing a giant bunny outfit or running along shouting ‘come and get me’, except I wasn’t. As soon as the dog started mithering Skateboard she went into a blind panic and as I couldn’t get her off the lead quickly, she tried to climb up me to get away, and I ended up with a nasty cut. I’ve now got 5 stitches in my right arm, a tetanus jab in the left, and the antibiotics are making me fall asleep standing up. Should be a quiet week for the boys when I’m face down in my crayons.
On the positive side though, today we went to Nailsworth with a bag full of washing (how you do). The Little Launderette on Market Street (tel 01453 834870) very kindly did a service wash, as there were no machines free, leaving us to go and enjoy the Sunday papers in the local pub. So, if you’re in Gloucestershire, you also still have no water and you need some clean clothes but not a 4 hour wait, give them a call.
