Using the software

When the software is properly installed the View Members admin page has additional functionality. Each full site member has small icon next to their username. Clicking this icon will display that member’s public profile page inline in the listing. In addition, that member will be selected (their checkbox will be ticked). Clicking the icon again will close the profile page.

If the forum module is installed then you can search for all posts by the member directly from this profile page.

The actions now include the ability to move member or members into different member groups as well as deleting them:

Once one or more members are selected for movement into another member group then a standard dropdown dialog appears listing all the site member groups. If the Banned group is chosen then you can also ban ip addresses, email addresses and as well delete all posts associated with the member(s) and automatically empty their URL and Biography profile fields.

Automatic Member Profile Updates

Member Utilities has the ability to automatically notify any number of email addresses whenever a member profile is updated. In addition you can create your own email template using variables for specific member information. Just access the module to see the option to enable profile update notifications along with the template creation area.

Updates will be triggered if a member Bio or URL is updated and it is not empty and different to that saved.

Show Members With Populated Biographies

When viewing the members at Member and Groups > View Members then you have the ability to view all members with populated biographies or any other custom profile field. This can help if you have installed Member Utilities into a site with an existing membership. The members will be listed in last visit date descending order. The length of any data in that custom field will be shown in the table.

Other Features

There is a debug variable at the top of the extension. If you set this to TRUE then your emails will also contain a representation of the entire POST array.
