My Family History Book

A unique site where subscribers can collaborate with other family members to write their family history online. Once completed the online text and images are sent off to the printers and return bound in a beautiful hardback book.

What we did

Although the site looks nice and simple there’s an awful lot of work behind it. Clearly we needed to make the site easy to use for both the people writing their family histories and the administrators and printers. A lot of time was spent setting up the member groups and using custom status’ – for example once a book has been submitted for printing it had to be visible to clients but locked for editing… and of course the printers only want to see the books they are scheduled to print.

Each registration generates a custom ID which carries on through the site to ensure accuracy for billing and printing.
